CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen
Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen is established to honour the memory of Kristian Gerhard Jebsen and his contribution to Norwegian and international shipping and business.
KGJS is committed to business practices and initiatives that benefit society and the common good. Throughout the years, KGJS has supported several activities as part of the group’s corporate social responsibility program. Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen is at the forefront of these activities.
In 2009, the family of the late founder of KGJS established a foundation to provide substantial financial support to medical and maritime research and cultural projects.
Through 2022, the foundation has awarded NOK 755 million in grants, which has supported the establishment of 24 K.G. Jebsen Centers for medical research, two K.G. Jebsen Centers for marine/maritime research, seven cultural projects and other projects for the public benefit.
In addition, Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen has donated a rescue vessel to the Norwegian Sea Rescue Society, which succeeded a vessel previously donated by KGJS.
