SKS has recently established SKS LR2 Pool – powered by Signal with a clear ambition to grow its activities and is hiring an Operations Manager SKS, located in Bergen.
The main objective for the Operations Manager is to lead the operations department by executing commercial contracts and to follow up vessel performance.
Main responsibilities:
- Overall responsible for the operation of all SKS controlled vessels
- Personnel management of the Operations team, including bunkering and post fixture
- Ensure that the SKS controlled tonnage is operated in an optimal way and in compliance with industry and company standards, policies, rules and regulations
- Maintain and develop plans, recommendations and policies for the operation activities
- Contribute to reduced fuel consumption and GHG emissions from the fleet
- Organize the operation activities in an optimal and cost-efficient way
- Support and continuously develop the Operations team
- Work closely with the commercial department and fleet manager OSM Bergen to monitor and improve overall performance of the fleet
- Assist in day to day operation of ships if needed
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience from tanker operations or other relevant experience
- Commercial mindset
- Genuine interest for the operational aspects of the maritime industry
- Good interpersonal skills and experience as a team leader
- High work capacity and multi-tasking abilities
- Good communication skills, written and verbally
- Systematic and analytical
- Attention to details
- Good general understanding of software applications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or similar. Relevant experience may compensate for a formal degree
SKS is a leading owner and commercial manager of product tankers, controlling 10 x LR2s of 120k DWT through a JV with funds managed by Hayfin Capital. The SKS vessels have a number of innovative features to ensure safe and efficient transportation of refined petroleum products. Commercial management covers chartering, operations, bunkering and post fixture and is located in Bergen and Singapore. Fleet management is handled by OSM Bergen.
SKS is owned by Kristian Gerhard Jebsen Skipsrederi AS (KGJS), which is owned by the Jebsen family. KGJS also owns and commercially manages Bulk Trading Group Limited (BTG) 4x Kamsarmax of 81k DWT.
